Yes. Lodestar Movers is fully insured and licensed to provide moving services across Ontario.

Waterloo is our home base and primary service area. We also serve Burlington, Hamilton, St. Catharines, and Mississauga, along with Guelph, Oakville, Milton, Toronto, the Niagara Region, and London, across the Western Golden Horseshoe and beyond. Long-distance moves are available as long as your pickup or drop-off is inside our service area. Please contact us to confirm we cover your location.

If you're packing yourself, box your items securely, label them by room, and set aside the essentials you'll need first. Prefer to skip all that? We're happy to pack, protect, and unpack for you — just add it to your quote.

We charge a simple hourly rate based on crew size: $150/hour for two movers, $200/hour for three, and $250/hour for four. There's a three-hour minimum on most days, and a four-hour minimum on the first and last days of the month. A truck fee starting at $120 (based on distance) applies separately, on top of the hourly rate. The right crew depends on the size of your move, and we'll gladly recommend one when you request your quote.

After the minimum (three hours on most days, or four on the first and last days of the month) we bill in 15-minute increments, never rounded up to the full hour. On longer moves our crews take a break, and you're never charged for that time.

No. Many movers start the clock when they leave their shop and stop it when they return. We don't. Your clock starts when we arrive at your first address and stops when we finish at the last. If both stops are within 20 km, that's all you pay. Farther apart, we add the calculated drive back to the first address, then close the bill there, so you always know the number upfront.

Everything from studios and condos to large, multi-bedroom homes. We assign a crew of two, three, or four movers depending on the scope, so the team is always right-sized for your move.

Always, on every job. We wrap and pad furniture, take real care with your fragile pieces, and protect floors and walls throughout the move. It's included, never an upsell.

Yes. You choose how much we do — from just the heavy lifting to a full white-glove move where we declutter, pack, move, assemble, and unpack over several days. Same hourly rate; you only pay for the time, materials, and any dump fees.

Yes. If your move-in is only 1–4 days after move-out, we keep everything protected on the truck for a flat daily fee. For longer gaps, we wrap and store your belongings in our secure facility by the month (roughly $500–$700 for houses, $300–$500 for apartments), then move you in when you're ready.

Yes. On any move we can load unwanted items and run them to donation or, if needed, the dump. You only pay for the time and any dump fees — a clean, easy way to lighten the load as you go.

Both. We'll deliver or move a single heavy piece with full protection, and you can also book our crew as labour-only helpers for loading, unloading, or rearranging when you've got your own truck.
